The following roles and responsibilities of the Staff is summarised as follows: 1. Design a scalable architecture for a data platform according to best practices and ensure data consistency/reliability/accessibility for analysis, reporting and operation needs. 2. Integrate data from various data sources (public websites, documents, databases etc.) and support the entire data pipeline process from extraction, transformation to loading. 3. Continuous monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure reliability and stability of in-house data systems and integration tools (e.g. databases, analytics systems, batch jobs, data pipeline scripts etc.). 4. Automate and improve existing data pipelines for optimal performance of data flows between dashboards/reports and databases/data sources. 5. Support data governance policies development that addresses any potential security breaches or data integrity issues. 6. Implement and manage data backup strategies to ensure data can be restored in case of data loss or corruption. 7. Utilize version control tools for database schema to keep track of changes and ensure a reliable history of modifications. 8. Benchmark, perform stress tests and analysis on data systems performance regularly to identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations.What we are looking for:We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active. In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following: Background in Software Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology / Data Science or related specialty Proficiency in programming languages and version control tools such as (Python, Java, SQL, Scala, R, Rust or Git) Knowledge of using database version control tools (e.g. Flyway, Liquibase) Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau and PowerBI etc) Proficiency in relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.) Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Oracle) and their data services. Experience with using ETL tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, Apache Nifi, Talend) Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) Knowledge of data warehousing solution (e.g. RedShift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks) Experience in integrating and working with APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP, RPC etc) is a plus. Proficiency in Linux is a plus. Knowledge of ML frameworks and libraries is a plus.
