About the Business Division
Deutsche Bank\'s Corporate Bank addresses the needs of corporate clients, financial institutions, investors, and issuers in three segments. In Corporate Treasury Services we provide corporate clients with liquidity management, foreign exchange, payment, trade finance and lending solutions. These services are orchestrated by a treasury coverage team that works closely with the Investment Bank to ensure cross-divisional alignment. Our Institutional Client Services provide financial institutions, investors and issuers with institutional cash management, trust, and agency solutions as well as securities services.

The Internship Teams & Specifics on the Intern Role

1. Cash Management - Merchant Solutions
Merchant Solutions is a business line supporting e-commerce businesses with various payment methods (i.e. credit/debit cards, wallets, instant payments, BNPL and other alternative payment modes) and marketplace solutions. As a fresh initiative we want to cater to demand for cross-border payments from merchants operating in the APAC region. To expand our remit across major currencies, we are designing a payment product integrated with a foreign exchange (FX) engine. Our goal is to provide MCP (Multi Currency Processing) and DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) followed by cross-border settlement of funds. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design of a product which will have high industry visibility over the coming 5-7 years.

We are looking for a candidate who can help us visualize the overall process of FX integration technically, and design interfaces to support cross-border payments in Merchant Solutions.

We expect students who have a fundamental understanding of the following technical areas will gain the most from this internship role:

• REST messages (instant APIs)
• JSON based data formats
• Application level protocols (e.g. https)
• Application level security (digital signing, 2-way TLS etc.)

2. Securities Services - Digital Asset Custody
Financial intermediaries such as global custodians, broker/dealers, and prime brokers as well as buy-side firms and other institutional clients need to focus on achieving their business goals, whilst ensuring continued regulatory compliance, and reducing capital and financing costs, as well as improving their operational efficiency. To help them, we provide custody, clearing and settlement, agency securities lending and fund services in more than 30 markets around the world.

3. Cash Solution Sales - New Economy
Deutsche Bank\'s Cash Solution Sales - New Economy Team focuses on clients in the New Economy, Fintech & Platform industries, such as FinTechs, online commerce companies, technology companies, virtual assets companies, etc. Here, we look to enable business growth in the new-age economy through structured workflow solution advisory with clients, product and risk control functions.

As a fresh initiative, we are looking for talents who would be able to elevate the Sales team\'s experience by leveraging on technology and data-driven solutions. One example would be to build a user-friendly dashboard using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, to empower and enable the Sales team to design a strategy that would achieve maximum efficiency and provide the best banking experience for our clients.

• Design and create a dashboard using data visualization tools, which can be fed data such as past sales data or case studies to drive and shape our sales strategy:

o Derive real-time insights for existing and new clients
o Create a differentiator and derive unanticipated solutions for our clients, and identify areas where past relevant solutions can be replicated for various clients
o Display KPIs and keep track of current & past deal pipelines

• Suggest and implement feasible ideas which would help achieve the desired results
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including Sales, Coverage, Products, Implementation & Service, etc)

We expect students who have a fundamental understanding of the following technical areas will gain the most from this internship role:

• Experience in working with data visualization tools and rolling out data-driven solutions
• Interest in the Banking and Finance industries, and keen to pursue careers in these industries
• General understanding and interest of banking market trends and business models
