Your field of responsibility
You will be based in Singapore office leading the Client Asset Control team in APAC Region. You will lead a diverse team of talented client asset specialists in Singapore and India. This role supports the APAC Operations Management, as well as the APAC Country Management, in driving the governance framework to demonstrate compliance with the client asset regulations across APAC jurisdictions.
In partnership with the Operations line teams, you will drive the governance framework which includes the following:

  • Periodic review of the key rules and regulations (in consultation with Compliance), controls associated with those regulations and the management information to monitor compliance with the rules and regulations
  • Periodic governance forums where metrics and key risk indicators are reported to Operations Management, with clear escalation path to Compliance, Risk and Control, General Counsel and Front Office
  • Oversight of the central client asset calculation, segregation, and reconciliation process. Handling escalations on client money related issues and queries

This role acts as subject matter expert on client asset regulations, in partnership with Compliance functions across APAC jurisdictions. This is an advisory role to Operations line teams on client asset impact, incident management, governance reporting and risk reviews. There is also people management requiring you to coach and manage the APAC Client Money team.
This role leads the face-off with external parties or regulatory bodies in demonstrating compliance with the client asset regulations.
Your team will drive the development of the Client Money Tool and related infrastructure to enhance the technology supporting central client asset Processes.

Your skills and experience
You will be a good match if you have:

  • Proven knowledge of client asset rules in Investment Banking across APAC jurisdictions, mainly Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Japan
  • Expert in governance and control framework to demonstrate compliance with client asset regulations at a jurisdiction level
  • Positive interpersonal skills and partners well across functions - Operations Line teams, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Control
  • Good communication skills. Expert in simplifying complex issues
  • Risk and control attitude and is not afraid to question status quo
  • Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
