What will be your main mission?

In the role of the Accountant, you are responsible for accurate preparation of full sets of accounts and the financial reporting of companies in Singapore and the rest of APAC, as assigned. This include tracking and evaluating day-to-day operational activities in the accounting department. Furthermore, you will be assisting with the development and implementation of both new and updates in accounting standards and policies that are applicable to the relevant entities; and prepare documents related to specific IFRS treatments.

You will be participating in developing and/or implementation of financial systems and processes/guidelines for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting of financial information. The remit of the controllership function is to capture the economic reality of the company's financial performance.

You will be part of our Accounting team, that is composed by other passionate accounting professionals located in Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg, Mexico City, Munich, Sao Paolo and Singapore.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily management of financial accounting activities and monthly/year-end financial reporting for Singapore and the rest of APAC, as assigned.
  • Managing month end close processes including preparing and posting of all general ledger related journals, inter-company reconciliations, daily accounting activities (including customer billings, processing vendor invoices and employees claims, and debt collection management).
  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Schedules and monthly financial review reports with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Review and reconcile the general ledger, identifying and thoroughly investigating discrepancies and taking appropriate corrective actions to resolve them.
  • Ensure all financial reports are accurate and prepared in accordance to local accounting standards and corporate requirements in a timely manner.
  • Participate in annual audit by internal/external auditors including preparation of audit schedules, audit queries and other audit related tasks as assigned.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of the monthly GST returns and schedules for Singapore and the rest of APAC, as assigned, in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the continuous review and implementation of accounting and financial policies, procedures and processes.

What are the skills to have:
  • Must be CA (ISCA) or CPA qualified with Accounting degree or ACCA.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of relevant post qualification experience in accounting, finance and tax in an international group (preferably minimum 2 years of audit experience)Candidates with shared service centre experience will be considered favourably.
  • Strong working knowledge in SFRS and IFRS, along with sound GST and local tax regulations working knowledge.
  • Working knowledge in AASB would be an advantage.
  • Hands-on preparation of full sets of accounts with ERP experience is a must. Experience with MS Dynamics is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (VLookup, pivot table, @functions, etc).
  • A creative, self-starter, fast learner, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with remote teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets
  • Ability to work independently and to meet tight deadlines.
As this role is based in Singapore, applicants must be eligible to work in Singapore.
