Job Description

This role is within the Financial Reporting team. As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be working in with a team of professionals and primarily be responsible for supporting the monthly reporting process, month end closing process, maintenance of general ledgers, preparation of financial statements and statistical reports.

The Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Local, USGAAP and MAS General Ledger and reconcile accounts monthly, ensuring timeliness and accuracy in the month end closing process, including reviewing of month posting journal and maintaining month end schedules.
• Through preparation / review (as appropriate) of balance sheet / control accounts reconciliations, ensure the balances reported in the financial statements are complete and accurate.
• Compile monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts to ensure compliance with all legislative financial reporting requirements.
• Support regulatory and internal reporting, which includes monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and any other ad hoc reporting to regulatory bodies and Home Office.
• Perform system reconciliations such as Premia, SUN and SAP
• Ensure bank reconciliations are carried on time with reconciling items to be followed closely with timely clearances.
• Support monthly GST reconciliation.
• Support preparation of annual corporate income tax.
• Support quarterly and annual MAS returns submission.
• Ensure accounting and reporting deadlines are met.
• Recommend and implement process efficiencies.
• Ad hoc projects and task when assigned.

• Degree / Diploma in Accountancy
• Fresh graduates / candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting (exposure to insurance will be advantages)

• Good understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong finance system skills including advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of SAP system is an a plus.
• Self-motivated, possess initiative and keen sense of accountability and keen sense of accountability.
