About the Unit

Yara is the world\'s largest producer of ammonia, nitrates and NPKs, offering solutions for sustainable agriculture respecting the environment. Our fertilizers and our crop nutrition programs were designed to help the sector of food production and to meet the needs of a growing world population. Our products and solutions help industry reduce emissions, improve air quality and prioritize effective operations safely.

Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries. The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities.

YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new Farming Solutions related activities.

Responsibilities

Responsible for general accounting and supporting the financial reporting functions.

  • Responsible for all month-end activities (monthly journals, schedules, and reconciliations) and ensure timely and accurate reporting of financials to the HQ.
  • Responsible for local management report and in-depth analysis of the unit performance (eg sales, margins fixed costs)
  • Handle treasury related functions including cashflow forecast, manage settlement of any financial instruments including letter of credits.
  • Review and manage organization bank account and trade lines.
  • Ensure financial transactions recorded are following IFRS and Yara Accounting policy
  • Assist in the year-end reporting, and statutory reporting activities
  • Facilitate annual business planning process
  • Prepare and submit reports to the local authorities (timely submission on all local govt reports)
  • Liaise with external/ internal stakeholders such as auditors and banks on all related matters
  • Other duties as assigned
Profile
  • Degree in Accounting or CPA certified
  • Proven 5 years of relevant experience in accounting field, from auditing and/or MNC background, preferably in distribution/trading environment
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, Excel, SAP and HFM reporting
  • Audit background with some experience in treasury functions will be advantage
  • Good communications skills with the ability to articulate critical details, with an analytical mindset with solution-oriented problem-solving skills
  • Able to work well in a team, and with people of different cultures
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines
