Accountant
Job Description
The Company
Our client is a European MNC within the commodity trading industry and is currently looking for an Accountant with prior experience in commodity companies who is comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment.
The Role
This role will be responsible for the full spectrum of finance for the Singapore entity and will be the main go to person for finance related matters and will work closely with the HQ team that is based overseas.
You will be responsible for the accounting function and handle the full sets of accounts, and will also handle month-end/quarterly closing and handle broker account reconciliation. You will also handle GST returns/reporting, and liaise with external auditors. You will prepare the required tax computations as well as the reporting results when required.
Your Profile
- Degree in Accounting/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification (CA/CPA/CIA)
- At least 5 years experience in a commodity firm
- Exposure to full sets of accounts
- Exposure to FX, forwards, inventory, MTM analysis
- Traits: Positive attitude, independent, driven, willing to be hands on
