Job Description


Responsibilities

  • Manage and carry out day-to-day and period-end accounting functions including accounting entries, accounts payable, accounts receivables, billings, and revenue accounting
  • Resolve accounting issues
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Filing & archiving of transactions files, liaise with ERP consultant in China for system design
  • Perform monthly closing process, reconcile, analysis accounts and generate group local financial reporting package by given tight timeline
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss statement by product and summarize current financial status
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, fixed assets and IFRS16 leases register updates
  • Prepare monthly journals for posting to SAP designed by Unipec HQ
  • Ensure all deadlines and schedules are met
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing accounts information
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  • Assist in internal and external audit matters of the company. Preparation of audit paperwork, especially focus on Chinese GAAP for parent company consolidation Audit Report
  • Prepare monthly withholding tax returns
  • Support month-end and year-end closing process
  • Review and implement effective financial/operational control systems/procedures through working closely with stakeholders
  • Support the team for preparation of consolidation for management reporting and in-depth analysis of financials and portfolios results
  • Prepare and ensure all accounting records, payments, claims are according to the company policies
  • Provide cover for other team members as needed; perform any duties or projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Jobholder needs to collaborate effectively with a broad range of internal stakeholders based in China HQ Finance team and ERP consultant. Deep understanding of Chinese culture and proficiency in written and spoken business Mandarin is a must besides English. Prior experience with Sinopec/Unipec HQ finance & Sinopec refineries is critical
  • Experience working closely with internal parties like operations, middle office, traders and external parties like auditors and various government authorities
  • Good team player with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Good working knowledge of GST AND TAX is a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of Chinese GAAP
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Able to utilize independent judgment in establishing the accuracy and reasonableness of financial information
  • Meticulous and analytical; attention to detail is a must; careful with numbers
  • Shows initiative, takes ownership of own work
