Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for compiling data and preparing invoices/bills and/or securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts and resolving discrepancies. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: \xc2\xa7 Gather records, such as purchase orders, sales tickets, and packing slips, to compile data \xc2\xa7 Add freight charges to calculate a total order amount for each order \xc2\xa7 Prepare invoices listing items sold, amounts due, credit terms, and dates of shipment \xc2\xa7 Check acknowledgement to determine if order has been completed. Any backorders are returned to sales department \xc2\xa7 Update sales report on daily basis \xc2\xa7 Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions \xc2\xa7 Update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices \xc2\xa7 Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers \xc2\xa7 Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries \xc2\xa7 Resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures \xc2\xa7 Resolve collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit line; coordinate contact with collections department \xc2\xa7 Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinate monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verify totals, and prepare report \xc2\xa7 Other duties and tasks may be assigned Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills: \xc2\xa7 1-3 years related accounting experience \xc2\xa7 Proficient with all Micrsoft Office software products (Excel, Word, etc.) \xc2\xa7 Good organizational skills \xc2\xa7 Must be detailed oriented Education/Certifications: \xc2\xa7 Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent related experience
