Our core business activities include not only emergency response to vessels in distress, but we also execute wreck removals and keep our oceans clean. To support its global business, Smit Salvage has offices located in Singapore, The Netherlands, USA (Houston) and South Africa (Cape Town).



You will make your mark as accountant at our Singapore office and play a key role in the financial administration and reporting of Smit Salvage Singapore within the Salvage division and work closely together with Shared Resources in Singapore and Shared Services in Abu Dhabi.

The finance team of Smit Salvage are in these same areas and work closely together. The Singapore team consists of a Finance controller, an Accountant and a Project Controller working from the office onshore and two Shore Coordinators who support the projects in the field, wherever that might be. Together with other Boskalis divisions, certain finance activities are performed by the Shared Resource centre in Singapore as well as the Shared Service Centre in Abu Dhabi.

Your responsibilities as an Accountant are:

• Oversee full set of accounts (AR, AP & GL).
• Prepare monthly reporting packages to Management, including variation analysis.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budget including narratives.
• Prepare periodic and ad-hoc financial analysis for budget control.
• Liaise with tax agent for the preparation and submission of tax return.
• Preparation of annual financial statements.
• Support audit process and liaise with auditors.

Your qualities
You can make your mark as accountant if you have:

• A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree / Professional Degree in Finance / Accountancy or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience as accountant.
• Good knowledge in Singapore FRS, taxation and GST.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially in Microsoft Excel.
• Able to perform under work pressure and deadline.
• Intrinsically motivated and adaptable, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Results and action oriented.
