The Accounts Assistant will provide essential support to the finance department by performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. This role involves assisting with daily financial operations, maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a foundational understanding of accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and filing systems.
Support accounts payable functions, including verifying invoices, processing payments, and managing vendor inquiries.
Support accounts receivable functions, including issuing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
Prepare basic financial reports, summaries, and analyses as required.
Handle petty cash management and reconciliation.
Assist with payroll processing and related documentation.
Liaise with internal departments and external vendors/clients regarding financial matters.
Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
Perform general administrative duties for the finance department, such as data entry, scanning, and photocopying.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Qualifications:
Required:
Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
1 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role.
Foundational understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
