Purpose of job
To oversee the management and operations of the Filos Active Ageing Centre which includes active aging, befriending programmes and information and referral services.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Strategize, manage and operationalise the work of the Active Aging Centre
  • Oversee and conduct programmes and services of the Active Ageing Centre which includes Active Ageing Programmes, Befriending and Buddying Programmes and Information and Referral services
  • Lead the Active Aging Centre team to assess needs, ascertain feasibility of programmes/projects and lead in the planning of new programmes/projects
  • To manage, guide and supervise staff managing day to day operations of Active Aging Centre
  • Lead and supervise the outreach and engagement of elderly clients living in Kembangan Chai Chee
  • Develop and maintain community partnerships to provide service linkages
  • Oversee and implement volunteer management practices to recruit, train and match volunteers with elderly clients in buddying and befriending services as well as volunteers to assist with activity facilitation for Active Ageing programmes
  • Oversee proper data collection of clients and programme and enforce data protection for the Active Aging Centre
  • Prepare and monitor the budget for the Active Ageing Centre services
  • Identify training and development needs for staff to develop their skills and competency in eldercare service
  • Review performance of staff in Active Aging Centre
  • Adhere to Filos’ policies and promote Filos’ Vision, Mission and Values in Active Aging Centre’s daily operations
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Experience
Experience in leading and managing a team in social service sector.
Experience in working with elderly clients in the community setting
Relevant working experience in healthcare/social service sector.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Social Science preferably in Gerontology, Physiotherapy or Public Health.

  • Empathetic Team Player with good interpersonal and communication skills. - Past experience with seniors, caregivers and community outreach
  • Knowledge to interpret relevant social policies on elderly populations
  • Dynamic, quick thinking, adaptable and responsive to change
  • Proficiency in Languages (Chinese or dialects, Malay) will be an advantage. - Strong administrative skills (in Microsoft Excel or Word or Powerpoint)
