Key Responsibilities

Conduct actuarial assessments to ensure that the company's reserves remain sufficient and meet all regulatory standards. Build, refine, and improve actuarial and financial models to support key performance indicators, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking across all business lines, distribution channels, and underwriting teams. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's underwriting approach, portfolio composition, product range, reinsurance framework, and data systems. Work closely with cross-functional teams--including underwriting, reinsurance, product, claims, and finance--to analyse portfolio results and recommend strategies to enhance profitability. Examine claims and operational data to detect patterns, deviations, and emerging risks that could impact reserve adequacy. Carry out scenario testing, stress testing, and sensitivity analyses to assist in capital management and risk assessment activities. Evaluate reinsurance structures and retention levels to optimize the balance between risk exposure and financial return. Provide support for technical accounting, commutation evaluations, and the development of robust ACR methodologies. Participate in data analytics initiatives, ensuring continual improvement in data integrity, precision, and reporting standards. Perform other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in areas such as reserving, financial and regulatory reporting (e.g., IFRS 17), forecasting, capital modelling, or portfolio management within the general insurance sector. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Power BI, and/or analytical tools such as SAS. Experience with programming languages like SQL or VBA will be an added advantage.
