Actuarial Intern

Job Summary:

The Actuarial Intern will report to the Associate Director and will be mainly responsible for supporting analytical investigations on IFRS17 valuation related matters. Other responsibilities include assisting the team in building out robust valuation processes for the purposes of future quarter end reporting. The Intern will work closely with the Senior Analysts on the team and will report directly to the Associate Director. The role allows for maximum technical exposure to high net worth products sold in the Singapore life insurance market and has excellent career development opportunities for strong candidates. The Intern may be converted into a permanent role if he/she displays a strong performance throughout the course of the internship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full hands-on exposure in supporting analytical investigations on IFRS17 valuation related matters. This is a great opportunity to gain introduction to IFRS17 standards as well as direct exposure to actuarial analysis. Actuarial modelling and technical training will be provided to support the candidate, transitioning smoothly into the project.
• Collaborate with other employees to build, enhance and automate processes to ensure efficient workflows and a strong control environment.
• Production and analysis of actuarial reserve & capital calculations for required submissions during quarter end.
• Additional duties as may be required from time to time by Associate Director and Senior Analysts.

Job Requirements

• Full time students working towards a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management or a related field
• Ability to work on and complete projects in a team oriented environment
• Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
• Strong cross team collaboration skills
• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel & VBA programming is required
• Actuarial exam progression with a recognized international actuarial body. Candidates who have passed/obtained exemptions for CT5 Contingencies (IFOA)/ Advanced Long-Term Actuarial Mathematics Exam (SOA) or any equivalent are preferred
• Experience with prior internships in the Life Insurance industry is preferred
• Experience with Moody\xe2\x80\x99s AXIS or an alternative actuarial modelling software is preferred
