Job Description

Main Roles and Responsibilities

1. Undertake contact/teaching hours per week in one of the following unit(s)/component(s): a. Design Studio: Theory & History b. Design Insights c. Design Futures d. Student-Led Project (Report Writing) e. Design Studio 3: Collaborative & Interdisciplinary Practice

2. Design, prepare and develop documents such as lesson plans and assessment descriptors as well as teaching resources/materials.

3. Plan and supervise a variety of activities such as projects, productions, collaborations, etc.

4. Supervise and assess students\xe2\x80\x99 assignments/works/projects.

5. Prepare and maintain records relating to students\xe2\x80\x99 progress, performance, and attendance.

6. Contribute to the review of the assigned unit(s)/component(s).

7. Mentor and provide academic care and support, including career guidance to students.

8. Keep up to date on the development of discipline related teaching practices and learning strategies.

9. Establish and maintain links with the industry and institutions to foster a total approach of academic pursuit alongside industry practice.

10. Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration and research.

11. Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

1. A minimum of a Master\'s in Design or a related discipline, preferably with a PhD.

2. At least 5 years of teaching experience and relevant working experience in the field.

3. Proficiency in effectively delivering online classes, utilising appropriate digital tools and platforms.

4. Ability to effectively collaborate and contribute within a team-oriented teaching environment.

5. Possess a positive, enthusiastic, and results-oriented approach to engage students and foster their learning.

6. Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

7. Display a cooperative and collaborative mindset, with strong interpersonal skills to work well within a team.

8. Excellent communication skills, including clearly conveying ideas and instructions.

9. A strong research or professional practice track record, demonstrating actual or potential contributions in their chosen field.

10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, effectively resolving challenges in the teaching and learning process.
