We are looking for an Assistant Director/Senior Manager who will play a pivotal role as part of a team in leading our Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) efforts in Future Communications Technologies, cross-domain research, and research to business development. The candidate should be a highly motivated team player who has experience in supporting research to business strategies, developing thought leadership activities for Singapore and orchestrating international partnerships through the RIE. A self-starter and able to work independently as position will be sited in the University/Research Institute. He/she will have opportunities to collaborate with local and international research communities and international organisations, to drive technology thought leadership.

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities

Develop and execute research-to-business strategies in Future Communications Technologies and cross-domain research (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability), aligning with national interests and market needs. Lead and manage RIE funding initiatives and strategic programme development. Build strategic partnerships with IHLs, RIs, and industry partners through effective stakeholder management. Lead the day to day operations of the programme office. Maintain regular reporting and updates to IMDA on programme progress, performance metrics, and emerging opportunities. Drive research commercialisation and industry development through market validation, partnership development, and translation of research outcomes into business opportunities. Lead talent development initiatives and foster knowledge transfer between institutions. Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to senior leadership on technological developments, policy implications, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or related field. At least 10 years of experience in managing research programmes, research commercialisation and industry partnerships, capability development and talent management, and strategic communications and stakeholder management Familiarity with the RIE ecosystem. Proven track records in leading multi-institutional initiatives, building trust, performance monitoring and reporting, and ability to manage dual reporting relationships. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills. Strong strategic thinking with collaborative leadership approach
