Equipment Technicians are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in their assigned area, while working in partnership with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers and tool vendors. Equipment Technicians monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to repair equipment issues.

Responsibilities:

• Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to resolve problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
• Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings
• Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
• Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as the need arises
• May perform equipment modifications as advised by engineers.

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of semiconductor equipment and processes
• Intermediate knowledge of AC/DC and Digital Electronics circuits, including fundamentals of electricity, basic electronic components and circuit analysis
• Intermediate knowledge of algebraic concepts
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve intermediate equipment problems and address root cause
• Accurately use common hand tools
• Intermediate understanding of wafer sort equipment and processes
• Intermediate data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills
• Intermediate knowledge of test and calibration equipment (O-scopes and DMMs)
• Shown ability to multitask complex projects
• Basic understanding of SPC principles
• Proven ability to communicate and present effectively
• Able to follow procedures and work with minimal direction
• Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills

Education and Experience: Associate's in an electronic related field or equivalent experience is required. About Micron Technology, Inc.
