Department overview :

Treasury is an established function within the Finance division at Nomura. The department has regional teams in Japan, AEJ, EMEA and the US. The team is responsible for all aspects of unsecured funding and to manage funding and the liquidity pool in accordance with board-mandated stress tests and in compliance with regulatory liquidity requirements.

Role description:

The individual will be part of AEJ treasury Funding Team covering all unsecured funding activities for AEJ entities and all AEJ currencies across Global entities. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and managing time-sensitive critical tasks in a controlled and logical manner. There is also a requirement for innovation and process improvement in using digital tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimates, manages, and funds the business local currency requirements via FX swap, NDF, spot.
  • Manages and optimize the regional legal entity liquidity pool investments
  • Monitor and manage the legal entity\'s liquidity requirements due to Business activity or regulatory and internal liquidity model requirements
  • Mandates and prices Nomura short and long term debt issuances for international Structured Note Programme - EMTN. Coordinate the regular executive management committee meetings for the international issuance entity.
  • Manages the Corporate entities capital activities such as Capital injections, Sub-debt, and Dividend
  • Execute monthly corporate FX sell down and CTA hedging.
  • Update and maintain policy and procedure documentation when requires.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5 years of treasury experience
  • Experience in financial products and capital markets
  • An understanding of capital market and derivative products would be beneficial
  • Bond maths fluency and familiarity with debt capital markets, foreign exchange & secured financing (e.g. repo & stock loan)
  • Good understanding of liquidity management concepts
  • Strong analytical skills and should be commercial and market savvy
  • Proficiency in presentation, spreadsheet, and data visualization software, some coding experience is preferred.
Project Management:
  • Take a lead role in the application of digital innovation and system automation in cross functional/regional projects related to funding matter.
  • Ability to manage workload, meet or exceed deadlines, and manage priorities
Communication:
  • Articulate with excellent communication (written and verbal) skills - ability to communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
Teamwork/Learning:
  • Fast learner with the ability to collaborate in a team as well as work independently across teams and regions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter, motivated and generally inquisitive
Corporate Governance:
  • Strong control mind set and understanding of front office supervision frameworks and risk management best practices.
