We are currently seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Scientist to drive innovation in emerging data and AI systems, including generative AI, agentic AI, and quantum AI. This role is part of the Labs division, a part of our Business and Technology Group, dedicated to prototyping and experimenting with cutting-edge AI, communications, connectivity, and trust technologies.

What You Will Be Working On

• Conduct the \'fail fast, learn fast\' data and AI prototyping lifecycle, spanning from concept and design to Proof-of-Concept development.
• Develop AI prototypes using novel techniques and provide detailed technical documentation.
• Facilitate AI prize challenges involving internal and external stakeholders to crowdsource innovative ideas and prototypes.
• Contribute thought leadership articles, including blogs and papers, on AI and best practices. Engage in demonstrations, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions on AI.
• Establish connections with global partners and researchers to stay updated on the latest trends, enhancing Singapore\'s influence in this domain, and representing IMDA at international research forums.

What We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in two or more of the following areas:

• AI Product Engineering or Prototyping

• Ability to translate real-world problems into AI/ML problem statements and code AI/ML models using software libraries.
• Deployment of AI workflows to enhance product development and maintenance processes.
• Evaluation of the effectiveness and sustainability of AI workflows for process improvements.
• AI Ethics and Governance

• Identification of AI Ethics and Governance principles and application of processes in daily activities.
• Ensuring adherence to relevant AI Ethics and Governance frameworks in projects with AI components.
• Data Engineering

• Proficiency in utilizing appropriate tools, systems, and techniques for data collection, storage, extraction, transformation, and loading according to established guidelines.
• Implementation of data management processes and systems to map data sources, processes, relationships, and transformation of multiple data streams.
• Experience in translating or commercializing emerging technologies.
• An excellent understanding of challenges and limitations in data and AI.
• A passion for hands-on, innovative work, and the ability to rapidly prototype solutions for complex problems.
