About the role

• Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital transformation in the chocolate industry, and we are seeking an AI Scrum Master to help us deliver agile projects and foster innovation across our operations. Based in our Singapore-based AI Center of Excellence, your role will involve orchestrating Agile processes for AI fostering a productive team environment, removing impediments, managing budgeting and cost efficiency, and ensuring that project deliverables align with strategic business objectives. This position requires deep expertise in leading AI transformations and a strategic mindset to drive innovation.
• As part of the BC Digital Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) organization, you will work closely with data scientists, AI engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver impactful AI solutions that meet business objectives. Key responsibilities include

• Project Management & Delivery

• Facilitate scrum/ agile ceremonies by leading daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews ensuring the project meets timelines & quality standards
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, conducting retrospectives, and implementing actionable changes.
• Assist the team in planning and managing sprints, ensuring work is well defined, assigned, and tracked, and that delivery commitments are met
• Manage agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) to track progress, maintain documentation, and facilitate communication within and outside the team
• Oversee the implementation of AI solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural guidelines.
• Oversee code reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality and performance.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
• Work in conjunction with AI Solution Architect and Data teams to optimize application architecture and integration, review design changes and support during implementation
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical AI practices.
• Budgeting & Cost Management

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Innovation managers to establish detailed project budgets, ensuring all required resources are staffed adequately based on project scope and timelines
• Proactively monitor resource usage in each sprint to enhance efficiency and avert budget overruns. Collaborate with the team to refine the project scope or prioritize tasks when necessary, optimizing for cost-effectiveness.
• Establish tracking mechanisms for real-time monitoring of project costs, and hold regular budget reviews with stakeholders to ensure transparency in funding and to proactively address any potential cost overruns.
• Technical Leadership

• Evangelize Agile Ways of Working by leading and training AI CoE to drive widespread adoption
• Act as a Coach and mentor the teams in Agile methodologies and best practices tailored to AI development, including iteration planning, testing, and incremental development
• Identify, assess, and remove any barriers that may hinder the team's progress, including technical and operational challenges.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate AI tools and technologies.
• Perform risk and problem analyses, create technical specifications and support the implementation of security measures and standards
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ecosystem Collaboration

• Facilitates workshops and design sessions in conjunction with AI Solution Architect to gather requirements and communicate architectural vision.
• Ensure clear, transparent, and timely communication across stakeholders, the AI development team, and executive leadership.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify areas of our business to uplift through advanced AI use cases (e.g. GenAI, process automation)
• Collaborate with stakeholders from our operative business functions to understand their business problems and identify innovative solutions to uplift our operative processes
• Foster a collaborative environment among cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders, to ensure alignment and clarity on goals and deliverables
• Research and Innovation

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI practices and methodologies.
• Support programs and workshops to encourage idea generation and drive employee engagement in innovation.

About you

• Degree in IT/technology, computer science, business administration, data analytics, or a comparable field
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent, advanced certifications (e.g. CSP-SM, PSM II/III) are a plus
• Proficiency in English
• Extensive experience as an AI Scrum Master in a comparable role, with a minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience
• Sound Knowledge of AI, ML, and data science concepts to support effective sprint planning and team alignment.
• Extensive Experience in managing and coaching engineers and architects, providing community support, training, and governance to drive best practices
• Hands-on expertise in agile tools like Jira and Azure DevOps
• Good understanding of processes and technologies concerning the newest developments around Innovation, Automation & AI
• Good understanding of innovation practices, e.g. design thinking, open innovation, agile, etc.
• Skills to create internal and external partnerships/networks across the organization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a structured way of working
• Creative and strategic thinker, with a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement
• Experience in the chocolate or food industry is a plus, but not essential
• Is an Agile enthusiast and exhibits a passion for Innovation and AI with a strong background in AI or data-driven projects, who thrives in a collaborative and fast-evolving environment
• Collaborates well across diverse and globally distributed teams, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across different levels and functions of the organization
