The Air-Conditioning Engineering Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air-conditioning and ventilation systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The role ensures systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, including split units, VRV/VRF, and central chillers.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in compressors, motors, fans, electrical components, and refrigerant circuits.
Check and adjust system performance, pressures, and temperatures.
Conduct leak testing, refrigerant charging, and system flushing.
Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
Prepare maintenance reports and service records.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients during installation or maintenance works.
Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
Requirements:
NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical or Air-Conditioning Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in HVAC servicing or installation.
Familiar with electrical control circuits and refrigeration systems.
Good knowledge of safety procedures and refrigerant handling.
Team player with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
