Job Purpose

The role will have a combination of functional and OE (Operating Entities) responsibility to support Allianz in achieving accelerated growth targets for the Asia Pacific region, working closely with other functional leads in the regional HQ as well as counterparts in operating entities.

You will be part of the regional strategy team and will support endeavours in defining and shaping the strategic direction for a future-proof organization and formulating the right initiatives and capabilities. A key focus area is to develop go-to-market propositions incubate new economic opportunities and bolster AZAP\'s value propositions and presence in the region, especially in the areas of customer, product, and distribution.

You are expected to exercise strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the chance to solve complex problems and communicate findings. The incumbent is also expected to articulate comfortably and communicate with confidence while working across internal functions, geographies, and stakeholders.

What you do

Strategy development

• Ambition setting: You will support the development of the annual strategy plan in close collaboration with regional functional leads (including C-suite), business units in the region, and Group office stakeholders
• Business transformation: You will support strategic projects focused on medium-long-term strategy and commit to developing initiatives to transform the Life business and achieve business goals
• Market development: You will support market research on industry/market movements, competitor intelligence, and other data analysis on an ongoing basis to evaluate growth areas
• Growth acceleration: You identify megatrends, map internal data points, and develop hypotheses for growth opportunities, and present recommendations to key stakeholders in the region
• Proposition development: You will support the integration of long-term regional objectives with OE aspirations by leveraging cross-functional expertise (e.g. product, distribution, marketing, ops, analytics) to drive proposition development
• Strategy execution: You will support the integration of long-term regional objectives with OE aspirations by leveraging digital analytics in the areas of Life and P/C strategy distribution and proposition development

Capability development

• Operating entity collaboration: You will collaborate, influence and guide the integration of long-term regional objectives and identified opportunity areas with OE aspirations by leveraging digital / analytics in the areas of Life, Health, P/C strategy distribution and proposition development
• Solution development: You will leverage and facilitate design thinking, and macro/industry/regulatory trend analysis to identify and solve business problems, ensuring OE alignment to regional strategy
• Diagnostics and data-driven insights: You will run POCs / Tests / scenarios / simulations as needed on sales and distribution activity management - realize value from data
• Organizational transformation: You will work and collaborate with stakeholders (across Global, regional, local teams) and leverage cross-functional expertise to develop long-term strategies for growth
• Drive Group strategic projects: You will deliver and engage entities on functional projects attuned to the Group and regional strategy (e.g., compensation frameworks, customer segmentation, protection, and health acceleration, etc)

Performance management

• Management dashboard: You will develop management reports covering the customer, product, and distribution performance and outlook for the business (e.g. 360 view of KPI delivery)
• Regular business steering: You will oversee delivery of regular reporting process on strategic initiatives (both local and regional) to senior management teams and regional head office
• OE support: You will support OEs on agency annual business planning with conducting reviews, qualitative assessments to identify strategic operational issues and performance gaps, while ensuring alignment with regional business strategy and long-term goals.
• Cross-functional strategic support: You will play an active role in supporting other departments to deliver on strategic objectives for the Life and Health department (e.g. collaborate on projects with Product / Finance / M&A functions)

What you bring

• 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in business strategy or consulting domains, preferably with exposure to insurance/financial services and/or transformation and distribution management
• Proven business/consulting skillset with established capabilities to manage key personnel and senior management (local, regional and global)
• Good understanding of financial services, insurance business, and regulatory frameworks
• Sound technical know-how with the ability to translate technical jargon into terms that business leaders can associate with
• Fluent in spoken and written English, additional Asian languages desired (Bahasa, Mandarin, Thai, etc)
• Possesses knowledge on distribution, product, and operations, preferably in the insurance domain
• excellent communication skills, strong analytical and conceptual skills, proven project management/coordination capabilities, ability to work independently
• Strong team player with good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
