OVERALL SUMMARY

The function is responsible for driving cross-functional collaboration between technical and finance departments to deliver accurate and insightful monthly reports on firmwide daily running costs (DRC). The role will coordinate with fleet managers to develop annual DRC and drydock (DD) budgets and orchestrates the company's participation in the annual Shipping Benchmarking Initiative (SBI) operational expenditure (OPEX) exercise with effective stakeholder engagement for comprehensive data collection. Beyond reporting, the role will support the Manager (Strategy & Analysis) with the production of internal reports, crafting materials for management meetings, contribute to vessel valuation, support investment project evaluations and research on shipping companies.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

DRC and DD Monitoring

Generate, analyse and identify variances in monthly DRC reports. Perform root cause analysis on significant budget deviations and present findings to
management.

Lead the annual DRC and DD budgeting exercise. Lead the annual submission exercise for SBI OPEX benchmarking.

Market Research

Keep abreast of shipping news and developments, alert management if required. Monitor market dynamics of listed shipping companies and identify business opportunities. Conduct ad-hoc research on companies as required.

Valuation of shipping assets

Support the valuation of vessels. Liaise with external and internal teams for data collection. Prepare valuation report.

Investment Projects

Support research effort in investment evaluation. Prepare financial models and analysis as and when required. Prepare business case to management.

Internal Reporting

Prepare and design board meeting materials biannually. Streamline reporting format and data collation for better management decision making.
