The Analyst/Forensic Scientist performs and oversees forensic
toxicology testing, evaluates results, prepares reports, and
provides expert advice and court testimony. He/She supports
method development, quality assurance, staff training, and
research activities while maintaining strong customer rapport
and responding to urgent toxicology requests when needed. The
role also assists laboratory leadership in ensuring operational
efficiency and compliance with accreditation standards.
[What you will be working on]
Supervise laboratory officers in the performance of tests, investigations, and research in the service areas within the work scope of the laboratory.
Plan and perform tests and investigations as necessary, evaluate test results and prepared reports to meet customers' requirement.
Answer enquiries from customers and testify in court as expert witness.
Investigate and carry out research on topics related to the analysis of drugs in biological specimens, and in the development of new tests and the evaluation of new instruments.
Participate and coordinate PT programs.
Involve in the development, modification, verification and validation of methods.
Train, motivate and conduct annual performance appraisal of the laboratory personnel.
Train junior analysts, and overseas/local trainees/students.
Develop efficient and close rapport with customers.
Assist the Laboratory Director in the coordination of quality assurance programs and audits within the laboratory.
Assist the Laboratory Director in the efficient and effective management of the laboratory.
Perform technical review of reports and certificates in accordance with the ANAB requirements (for senior forensic scientists).
Respond to emergency toxicology request after office hours.
Keep abreast of scientific development in the areas of toxicology and develop relevant expertise.
Participate in group activities in the laboratory and the organization (e.g. work improvement & innovation projects, seminars, committees, working groups).
Undertake any other scientific and administrative functions as assigned by Laboratory Director, Division Director (ATD), Assistant Group Director (FAS), Group Director (ASG) and CEO (HSA).
