Job Description


Duties Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop the APAC training strategy for all our Oxford Nanopore applications and workflows.
  • Responsible for the creation of this curriculum and content in collaboration with global training team
  • Deliver this content to our staff, distribution partners and customers when required, this will be technical presentations, demonstrations, hands-on lab exercises, technical Q&A sessions, and trainee assessments.
  • Work closely with our lead Engineers and lead Bioinformaticians on the delivery FSE and BiFx/Networking training when required.
  • Develop an online portal for scheduling and booking of all trainings.
  • Responsibly for our newly establish sequencing laboratory, including device serviceability, upgrades, updates, informatics servers and all consumables stocking and shelf life.
  • Assist with proof-of-concept activities when required for our APAC commercial team.
  • Collaborative extensively with our APAC applications team
  • From time to time be involved in alpha and beta testing of applications as advised by our global R&D and PM teams.
  • Deployment for field-based applications activities, including and not limited to troubleshooting, installation and training assistance within APAC as required, including distributor support.
  • Participate in training courses in the UK
  • Represent APAC Technical Services commercial training on extended teams to ensure training needs are addressed and met expectations.
  • Continuously update course materials to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology and products.
  • Author, review, curate and edit technical documents and presentations as required, including version control.
Qualifications/Education
  • Ph.D or MSc degree in life sciences or equivalent commercial experience
Experience \xc3\xaf\xc2\xbc\xcb\x86Essential\xc3\xaf\xc2\xbc\xe2\x80\xb0
  • Solid background of lab experience with proven knowledge and understanding of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and related fields
  • Proven abilities in curriculum development and deployment
  • NGS platforms knowledge and practical experience.
  • Experience in sample preparation methodologies (DNA isolation, fragmentation etc.)
  • Data analysis and interpretation of biological phenomena
  • Experience in fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Previous experience in giving oral presentations, teaching, or training other scientists.
Experience (Desirable)
  • Previous Training deployment in a classroom and lab environments
  • Previous Trainer and or FAS experience in an NGS company
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (Essential)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including SharePointTechnical competency to understand and clearly discuss fundamental theory and principles of experimental design, techniques and results; to stay current in technical knowledge; ability to troubleshoot and to provide information back to customers in a helpful, courteous, positive and professional manner.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, writing, and editing skills
  • General working knowledge of bioinformatics and sequence analysis tools.
  • Customer-facing skills
  • Proven ability of effective written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate and project over the telephone
  • Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction
  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage priorities at one time.
  • Ability to work effectively both interdepartmentally and internationally.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (Desirable)
  • Fluent in English and exposure to Mandarin and Japanese would be desirable.
  • Exposure to hands on bioinformatics and sequence analysis tools.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%
