Key responsibilities

• Oversee all Finance functions within the region, encompassing Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Regulatory Reporting, and Payment operations, ensuring full compliance with both Head Office directives and local regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, including monthly profit and loss reports, annual balance sheets, and statutory accounts for submission to Head Office and relevant authorities.
• Coordinate and ensure the timely submission of all regulatory and statistical returns to local banking regulators and Head Office in accordance with established guidelines and deadlines.
• Manage and maintain accounting operations and controls, including the Chart of Accounts, booking processes, nostro account reconciliations, and the integrity of financial static data.
• Oversee all taxation matters, including corporate tax and GST filings, verification processes, refund claims, and the identification and implementation of applicable tax incentives.
• Collaborate closely with Head Office on IFRS and Local GAAP reconciliations, implementing accounting policies that adhere to both global standards and local statutory requirements.
• Provide financial leadership and advisory support to regional branches, participate in management committees and new product approval processes, and advise on accounting and reporting implications of business initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization of Finance processes and reporting frameworks across the region to enhance efficiency, transparency, and governance.

Role requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) would be an advantage.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in Finance and Financial Regulatory Reporting, ideally with experience within a mid-sized Banking environment.
• A minimum of 8 years of management experience in Finance.
• Proven experience in project management or active participation in finance-related initiatives and transformation projects is preferred.
