As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.
Job responsibilities

• Works with stakeholders in the region to help understand local requirements, implement local solutions and align to strategic target state.
• Translates highly complex technical issues to leadership, to drive firm's innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about target state architecture
• Provides feedback and proposes improvements to architecture governance practices
• Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks
• Provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Lead a small team of solution architects to deliver high quality architecture solutions
• Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Formal training or certification on infrastructure architecture principles and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture
• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
• Ability to understand technology in the context of the business strategy
• Practical cloud native experience
• Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or similar.
• In-depth understanding of security best practices and regulatory requirements, particularly within the APAC region.
• Strong understanding of financial services industry trends, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape within the APAC region
