We are looking for a talented privacy expert to lead our APAC regional privacy team.You will work directly with business and engineering teams to design innovative privacy solutions for products, as well as with legal, compliance and risk teams to support exciting new projects and partnerships and embed privacy compliance for the APAC region.This role will be in Singapore to provide local time-zone support and to co-locate with other APAC members of the Wise Legal team.What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Work OnLocalise and implement the global privacy transformation program across the APAC regionPartner with business and engineering teams on the design and launch of innovative products for the APAC marketAdvise on the privacy aspects of Wise platform partnerships and arrangements with partner banks and financial institutions, including contractual arrangementsSupport expansion activities for launching Wise products and services in new jurisdictionsOversee privacy compliance for APAC entities and support reporting to APAC oversight committees and entity boardsSupport periodic global and regional audits of privacy compliance within Wise.Keep up with evolving regulatory requirements in the APAC region and translate them into actionable business requirementsSupport implementation of the Wise AI Governance framework, monitor emerging AI regulations and guidelines in the APAC region and support associated regulatory change initiativesQualificationsTo thrive in this role, you will be a self-starter, a great influencer and communicator. You will be comfortable working in grey areas and making judgement calls at speed. You will be obsessed with detail and happy handling competing priorities and differences of opinion. You will have strong project management skills and be able to break through walls to get things done, collaborating with cross-functional teams to find practical solutions. You will have:Excellent academic credentials. Minimum of 8 years privacy experience at a top-tier law firm or in-houseStrong understanding of APAC privacy, data protection and data security lawsExperienced in handling privacy inquiries, complaints and incidents.Experience in privacy by design and data protection impact assessmentsExperience in dealing with regulators in APAC on privacy matters.Experience in drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts and developing compliance and auditing frameworksExcellent written and verbal skills in EnglishAdmitted to practice law in at least one APAC jurisdictionA problem solving attitude, with the ability to use regulation together with data to drive business decisionsAbility to drive and deliver projects from inception to completion, timely and with attention to detailExperience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing environment.DesirableRelevant privacy qualification, such as CIPM, CIPP or equivalent.Hands-on experience of China and India privacy compliance.Working knowledge of APAC financial services regulationExperience managing a teamExperience of relevant technologies including data anonymisation, PETS, artificial intelligence and familiarity with ethical frameworks, data governance and accountabilityAdditional InformationFor everyone, everywhere.
