IJ Global \xe2\x80\x93 Infrastructure Finance

APAC News Reporter

This is an exciting role in a vibrant sector \xe2\x80\x93 global infrastructure investment \xe2\x80\x93 tracking deployment of an interesting financing tool in support of the delivery of projects that range in scale from floating solar in Singapore and vast power plants in the Middle East through to motorways across Texas, offshore wind in the North Sea and data centres in Brazil.

As the APAC News Reporter, you will be responsible for the Finance news on the renewables, oil & gas, power, transport, social, telecoms, water and mining sectors in Asia Pacific

Principal responsibilities

• Pitching and writing at least 4 news stories a day, the majority of which are exclusives on infrastructure finance news spanning across energy, transportation, renewable energy, public-private partnerships, telecom and other key sectors in Asia Pacific
• Write news stories leveraging IJGlobal\xe2\x80\x99s data
• Maintaining broad and high-level contact with the market through daily telephone calls and frequent face-to-face/virtual meetings
• Collaborating with other team members and other functions
• Deliver in-depth periodic analytical feature
• Involvement in agenda setting for events and occasionally chairing panel discussion

Skills, knowledge & experience

• Excellent written English
• Other languages (preferred) including Mandarin, Bahasa, Japanese or Korean
• Passion for journalism
• Strong reporting and interviewing skills
• A keen eye for a story
• Able to network well and build a strong book of contacts
• Willing to make cold calls
• Shows initiative
• Efficient, organised and able to meet deadlines
• Able to work well under pressure
• Team player with a collaborative attitude
• Strong communicator
• Inquisitive and willing to learn, especially about complex subject matter
• Interest in the finance sector
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher preferred
• At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in journalism
