DHL Express Global Head Office has an opening for Application Manager in the Company Data Domain. The Application Manager is responsible for the following:

• Drive the definition of solutions, products and applications that are fit for purpose both functionally and technically.
• Ensure that solutions are delivered with the right technology and best possible design for the given scope.
• Provide technical know-how for deployment of solutions.

YOUR TASKS

Customer

• Responsible to ensure that solutions are delivered to agreed scope and quality, in any or all project phases including requirements, design, build and deployment.
• Ensure adherence to DHL Express business and IT standards, not limited to architecture, security, development, process standards.

Stakeholder

• Build an effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work with business functions to clarify requirements and set the scope.
• Work directly with external and/or internal IT resources during the execution of a project.
• Participate in project workstreams based on role and involvement.
• Act as lead for delivery of IT components of global projects with full technical responsibility.

Process

• Implement the right set of tools, framework and standards for IT development while promoting re-use.
• Provide regular reports of progress towards meeting project deliverables.
• Active participation in the project controlling and QA processes.
• Provide input on new Integration Platform technologies, processes and methodologies improvements.
• Own the alignment between the project delivery and the EGAP direction.

People Management

• Act as technical/product expert to guide project team members for the duration of the project.
• Work with business functions to clarify requirements, set the scope and see through until delivery, leads requirements gathering workshops and requirements document review.
• Work with enterprise architects and technical teams in the implementation of Integration Platform solutions.
• Work directly with external and/or internal IT resources during the execution of a project.

Application/Platform & Deployment Coverage Scope

• Global deployment.
• Able to manage multiple deployment concurrently.
• Responsible for assigned Integration Platforms quality, stability.
• Work with internal security team to comply with the IT security policy, standards and procedures for any implementation of new platforms or software.

The best-fit candidate may be based in India (Chennai), Malaysia (Cyberjaya) or Singapore.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Key Capabilities

• Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly, and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
• Strong experience in service oriented architecture and Integration concepts and related technologies.
• Strong Project Management (Practitioner of Agile and Waterfall) of development lifecycle.
• Appreciation of Integration and high-level database concepts.
• Management of integration platforms using the following technologies is an added advantage (SAG webMethods IS/BPM, Mapforce, SAG Rules Engine).
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional cross-geographical teams to analyze and understand business needs.
• Great oral and written English and presentation skills: ready to present to business audience.

At least 8 years of multi-disciplined IT experience including:

• Experience in design/architecture, development, testing and deployment support for medium- to large-scale projects.
• Technical appreciation of design/architecture concepts.
• Conceptual knowledge of Java, Software AG webMethods family, Oracle Database, LINUX/UNIX operating systems is an added advantage.
• At least 7 years of experience on in managing complex systems integration projects.
• Experience in managing vendors on design\architecture, development, testing and deployment support for medium- to large-scale projects.
• At least 3 years of experience in a multi-national enterprise, preferably within the logistics or transportation sector.
• IT solutions development and implementation experience - proven track record for managing and delivering complex IT solutions.
• Process knowledge: Solid understanding of the processes and metrics supporting the business.
• Highly customer oriented.
• Technology expertise geared at implementing solutions.
• Advanced University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or similar experience/education.
• Professional Certification in at least one relevant Project Management Technique (Prince2 or PMI) or Agile Project Management technique.

• Knowledge and/or working experience in a cross-cultural environment is desirable.
