Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA) to handle PL/SQL development, perform basic Oracle database administration, and support application teams with database implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop PL/SQL programs, procedures, functions, and triggers
- Create and manage database objects (tables, indexes, etc.)
- Support data extraction, transformation, and reporting (ETL & reporting)
- Optimize SQL queries for performance
- Provide support for database setup, upgrades, and patching
- Coordinate with application teams and vendors on implementations
- Perform basic Oracle DB administration (user management, job scheduling, export/import, performance tuning, and security)
- Support SIT, UAT, and production environments
- Use Unix shell scripting for automation tasks
- Document and implement database standards and best practices
- Hands-on experience in PL/SQL development
- Experience in basic Oracle DBA tasks (3+ years)
- Strong skills in Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Good understanding of database performance tuning and security
- Experience with Solaris, Unix, or Linux environments
- Ability to coordinate with teams, meet deadlines, and handle pressure
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate and MS SQL Server is a plus
