Art Therapist And Educator

Job Description

The Art Therapist and Educator plays a key role in supporting the emotional, behavioural, and psychological well-being of learners with special needs while facilitating their journey toward vocational skill development through artistic expression.







Therapeutic Support



Conduct individual and group art therapy sessions tailored to participants' cognitive, emotional, and developmental levels. Provide therapeutic interventions to support emotional regulation, communication, and self-expression. Assess emotional and behavioural progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly.

Vocational Integration



Collaborate with vocational art trainers to integrate therapeutic goals with skill-building activities. Support learners in developing the focus, confidence, and resilience necessary for vocational art tasks. Develop and implement learning curriculum and content that aligns with therapeutic goals and vocational readiness and is consistent with current trends and best practices in art therapy and special education. Collaborate with the programmes team to assess, design, develop, and maintain high-quality training programmes that meet both therapeutic and vocational objectives. Responsible for ongoing development of training approaches, including researching training standards and best practices in art therapy, special education, and vocational programming. Contribute to curriculum development from a therapeutic perspective.

Individualized Planning and Evaluation



Develop and maintain individualized Art Therapy goals aligned with participants' IEPs or vocational goals. Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of client progress using standardized and observation-based tools. Ensure proper documentation, monitoring, evaluation, and recommendations for both client progress and overall programme outcomes. Participate in case conferences with families and professionals and provide written reports when needed.

Environment and Crisis Management



Create a safe, inclusive, and sensory-sensitive art environment. Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary during training sessions.

Community Engagement & Communication



Facilitate community art projects, exhibitions, or art sales to help participants develop social skills and confidence. Prepare students for public interaction in professional or artistic settings. Support digital design work in the area of marketing and communication relating to the programmes, including promotional materials, event branding, and visual storytelling that reflects the programme's values and participants' work.

Operations & Logistics



Coordinate resources and logistics for therapy and training, including scheduling, material preparation, space setup, and equipment needs. Work with administrative and programme teams to ensure efficient use of time and materials. Support all staff, departments, and ad hoc events and activities as and when needed, including cross-functional collaboration and participation in organizational initiatives.



Job Requirement



Bachelor Degree in Arts/Psychology or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in relevant fields * 2-3 years of working experience in relevant fields
