Purpose of Role

In our mission to drive product launch execution excellence across the Asia Region, we are looking for a senior "Regional NPI Lead" to cover all Supply Readiness activities aiming to provide patients with access to our products in the shortest possible lead-time.

Essentially, the Senior Planner for Regional Supply Chain Planning & NPI Management has two portfolios -
1) Regional Supply Chain Planning
2) Regional NPI Management & Supply Readiness Planning

1) Portfolio I - Regional Supply Chain Planning

This role is responsible for the management of all aspects of demand and supply planning for all commercial products within the Asia Pacific region. You will analyze sales trends, channel inventory positioning, and work with commercial team (Marketing & Sales) to incorporate Marketing plans & assumptions to estimate future demands. This role will work with local functional team (RA, QA and Finance) and Senior Regional SCM to anticipate and maintain appropriate inventory levels to ensure stable product supply. You are responsible for aggregating demands from respective countries, managing the supply allocation with local CMO, analyzing demand changes in the business to ensure high accuracy of forecast & optimizing inventory level, and supporting the overall business by providing clear visibility on business risks and opportunities during the monthly business planning cycle.

2) Portfolio II - Regional NPI Management & Supply Readiness Planning

Responsibilities here include leading and managing NPI launch & supply readiness for/from internal and external sites including Japan, Europe and USA to meet commercial launch goals in Asia countries. This role is responsible to develop a stable and comprehensive product launch portfolio in parallel to product supply and site transfer.

You will be responsible for leading new product introduction activities, tech transfer from inter-site transfer, tech transfer from CMOs to internal plant, site change initiative and ensure supply continuity per business needs. You are responsible to ensure that supply readiness, execution, and delivery of New Product Introductions are in-line with launch timelines and that they adhere to NPI business processes and operations model for Asia business. In addition, you will be responsible to coordinate the execution of cross-functional workstreams from Regulatory, Artwork, Commercial, Corporate Supply Planning and Supply Chain team across Santen regions.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

DEMAND PLANNING:

  • Work collaboratively with local country Supply Chain and cross-functional teams to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Interface and communicate with Supply Planning team on forecast changes.
  • Work with Product Supply teams or Production Planners to understand supply constraints, variations, and impact on demand in Demand/Supply Meeting
  • Lead Process Improvement initiatives within Demand Planning including best practices sharing to improve forecast accuracy
  • Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems
  • Measure Forecast Accuracy and determine Root Causes behind forecast variances as well as communicate and take corrective action, where necessary
SUPPLY PLANNING:
  • Aggregate demands from countries and allocating supply in accordance with ordering and production rules defined by CMOs in Asia.
  • Develop purchase orders and work orders to sites in a timely and efficient manner to assure semi-finished goods are in optimal level to support secondary packaging in RDC
  • Create the orders based on supplier\xe2\x80\x99s transportation requirements and purchasing requirements (minimums, lead times, order levels, etc.)
  • Issue purchase orders in accordance to manufacturing rules, MOQ and lead times
  • Be responsible for order tracking, expedition & fulfillment status
  • Develop recovery plans on potential stock-outs due to under-forecasting or late deliveries or change regulatory and artwork timeline
  • Maintain replenishment master data to assure efficient and accurate orders
  • Manage purchase orders with the logistics & distribution teams
NPI & LAUNCH EXCELLENCE:
  • Be accountable for accomplishing the stated New Product Introduction objectives and target
  • Key project management responsibilities include defining clear and attainable objectives for your portfolio, building the requirements, and managing all elements of New Product Introductions
  • Reconcile submission plan vs. marketing forecast for new products
  • Collate all necessary information related to the launch from Regional SCM and align with the respective functions with documented assumptions
  • Coordinate launch activities with functional teams such as Commercial (Sales and Marketing), Regulatory, Artwork, Supply Planning, Quality, Logistic and Finance team
  • Proactively track MA approval timeline and furnish in advance the projected forecast for capacity planning
  • Maintain close cooperation with Regional SCM to track artwork and production status to ensure supply readiness for launch
  • Pro-actively explore opportunities to accelerate the launch process
  • Participate in launch activities with Global & HQ SCM / local Sales and Marketing / local Regulatory teams
SUPPLY READINESS & TECH TRANSFER PROJECTS:
  • Ensure that new product launches, tech transfers, and site changes from manufacturers/suppliers to other Santen BUs are implemented successfully and on time
  • Work closely with Regional SCM to track artwork and production status to ensure supply readiness for launch
  • Track project progress and ensure all launch project activities are completed on-time
  • Monitor launch schedules and supply readiness regularly to determine any delays or deviations
  • Resolve major supply issues with Supply/Production Planners and Manufacturers to ensure supply availability and meet launch timeline
  • Provide & share appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, as requested
  • Communicate with Management Team, all process execution failures that affect Santen launch opportunities, conduct a postmortem on any such failures and report back to with improvements to the process
  • Develop project reports for management and clients
  • Analyze and resolve project issues in a timely and accurate manner
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • High attention to detail, strong organization skills and comfortable with analyzing large amount of data, and identifying/developing key action plan from the analysis
  • Work with Supply Planning on capacity planning and its impact on overall launch
  • Able to manage medium to large sized New Product Introductions involving diverse global teams which require significant cross-functional interaction
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels within the organization
  • Create and share NPI launch tracker, launch milestone reports and other reports, as requested
  • Participate in various projects and perform various analysis, on request
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum degree in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Planning / NPI Management or related field in the healthcare business
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain launch excellence and tech transfer experience in related field
  • 3+ years of integrated project management experience, leading projects of varied scale and complexity
  • Vendor management experience (have worked with or in) is a plus
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of international business and pharmaceutical cGMP and GDP regulations
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills include cross-functional relationship building
  • Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint presentation, statistical analysis skill
  • Positive attitude, self-driven and result oriented
  • Understanding of project management methodology will be an advantage
