Job Description


This role is for an experienced Director to build out and manage the Macquarie Asia region technology portfolio of regulatory response work.

Covering multiple businesses in a fast-paced, dynamic and energetic trading environment, your role will involve working closely with the regulatory teams, compliance and senior technology management in the Asia region to unify regulatory response activity. This will involve the technology & cyber divisions as well as the Technology Business Operational Risk Management team to ensure regional compliance.
A secondary (non-regulatory) aspect of the role will entail leaning into new Asia based projects, where appropriate, and working with the service owners to deliver change.

Your role will encompass:

  • Portfolio structuring, management and reporting.
  • Oversight of programs and at times execution of project work.
  • Helping define strategy and communication plans.
  • Delivery and cadence across the broader Commodities and Global Markets Asia regional regulatory remit.
To be successful in this role you will display a high degree of structure and organisation, good regulatory knowledge, strong communication skills and good commercial acumen with the ability to reprioritise and direct others in a rapidly changing environment.

You will also undertake management responsibilities which may include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, identifying and managing risks, engaging with senior stakeholders across business and technology and helping to manage portfolio finances.

To excel in this role, you will have:
  • 15+ years\' project/business management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working on regulatory change/directly engaging with regulators.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • A tertiary degree in IT or similar subject.
  • A track record delivering in situations listed above.
  • Domain knowledge of Investment Banking. Some knowledge of cash equities, derivatives, or commodities beneficial.
