Private Wealth Management (PWM) builds, develops and manages relationships with high-net-worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client's particular risk tolerance, and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services.



PWM Asia is seeking a candidate to be a wealth strategist in the Goldman Sachs Family Office (GSFO) team in Singapore. The person filling this position would present wealth planning solutions to existing and potential GS clients and their advisors across Asia.



YOUR IMPACT


Serving as a subject matter expert and resource on matters of trust, estate and wealth planning for Private Wealth Management within the region Enhancing the value proposition of Private Wealth Management by helping private clients understand, navigate and position themselves in relation to estate planning, life insurance, immigration, asset protection, family governance and philanthropic aspects of wealth Providing clients with integrated wealth planning solutions by working closely with other groups in Goldman Sachs, including Private Wealth Advisors, Investment Strategy Group, Market Solution Group




Basic Qualifications:


A strong background in assisting high net worth clients from an asset protection, life insurance, trust and estate and cross-border planning perspective. Technical expertise on tax and succession matters across key APAC jurisdictions (Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand) including experience in cross border planning for high net worth families Experience interfacing with trustees, accountants, lawyers, insurance brokers and other advisors in respect of private client wealth planning Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment Resourceful, self-starter, attentive to detail and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment Experience presenting to internal and external audiences Willingness and desire to travel frequently given regional remit of the role Fluency in English is required to ensure effective communication across internal teams, global stakeholders and regulatory bodies Fluency in Mandarin is required, given a significant proportion of UHNW clients in the region are Mandarin-speaking individuals and families. Mandarin fluency is critical to build trust and rapport directly with clients in their preferred language, and navigate nuanced cultural and linguistic aspects in sensitive discussions around succession, family governance, and wealth transfer. Targeting 7-15 years of professional experience as a rough guideline but no strict requirement




Preferred Qualifications:


Familiarity with US cross-border wealth planning would be advantageous Qualified solicitor/lawyer or CPA/chartered accountant preferred Expertise in insurance planning is preferred but not required
