Sumec Ocean Transportation Pte Ltd is a growing shipowner specialized in time charter operations of a modern dry bulk fleet. With a global client base and professional in-house teams, we are committed to delivering efficient, compliant, and value-driven shipping solutions. As we expand our operations, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented candidate to join our dynamic team to support our fleet performance. The intern will be focusing on vessel performance monitoring, digitalization projects, and emissions compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring of vessel

speed, fuel oil consumption, and relevant technical parameters

. Assist in

coordination with vessels, ship managers and internal team

for data validation or clarifications. Assist in evaluation of vessel description (speed & consumption) against charterparty terms and technical benchmarks. Assist in analysis of hull efficiency, and engine performance trends, including potential impact by fouling, weather, and operational patterns. Assist in the preparation and submission of

emissions reports

(EU ETS/FuelEU Maritime) for vessels trading in EU region. Assist in review on vessel underperformance claims when required. Assist in preparation of

monthly vessel performance dashboard and KPIs

for management review. Assist in research on latest regulatory changes and evaluation of

its impact to the fleet and the company.

Job Requirement

Requirements

Diploma / degree in maritime relevant fields is preferred. Strong interests in vessel performance and emissions domains. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel or data analysis tools. Strong presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint or other BI tools. Strong attention to details, numerical accuracy, and analytical thinking. Strong communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
