The team will work with the Implementation Team to develop evidence-based standards for sector-specific net zero commitments in healthcare.
The individual will be a principal investigator (PI) reporting to the Director of the Centre, to design and conduct research assessing environmental impacts associated with healthcare-related functional units (such as national healthcare systems, clinical patient pathways, clinical treatments including procedures, products, and pharmaceuticals). The individual will contribute to the development and validation of novel/ innovative methodologies for undertaking environmental impact assessments within healthcare. They will contribute to growing the space of low-carbon healthcare through the centre\'s teaching efforts and doctoral training programme.
The successful candidate will have experience undertaking environmental impact assessments including life cycle assessment and carbon footprinting (using top-down, bottom-up and hybrid approaches), alongside using carbon and sustainability analytics to inform policy tools (such as Health Technology Assessments, Energy Efficiency Analysis, and Transition Pathways Analysis).
