Assistant Chemist, QC Analytical
Job Purpose
Perform routine / non-routine lab testing and to administer general laboratory activities.
Key Accountabilities
1. Perform test / task in accordance to established Local SOP, Alcon CORP & VCG SOP, OSHA and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely completion of the testing/ task. Ensure testing right first time.
2. Review and approve test results, batch records, disposition forms, and quality reports of incoming (such as spare parts, packaging and raw materials) and formulated in-process materials.
3. Administer general laboratory activities (sample management and disposal, housekeeping, preparation of reports/emails/memos for intended audience, checking of inventory/standards, Goods Receipt of purchase items/ services, material labelling) and other assigned tasks/duties.
4. Responsible to create work environment which is free from recognized hazards, to be compliant with HSE requirements and applicable law or regulations, and support HSE activities.
5. Support implementation of projects and drive Kaizen/continuous improvement project in the working area.
6. Train other associates for OJT Training and ensure compliance to training requirements.
7. Perform 5S, maintain or improve the 5S standard in the lab
8. Perform duties as assigned by supervisor based on the agreed deliverables and timelines.
Education
Diploma in Chemistry or other scientific fields / ITE Certificate in scientific fields with 3-5 years relevant work experience.
Experience
Minimally 3- 5 year experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or related industry.
