Primary Purpose & Scope of the role:

• Ensure Content Code compliance in all our locally produced and acquired Indian programme broadcasts on FTA-TV Channels and on meWATCH.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vetting of Indian content (from local and foreign studios) on Vasantham and meWATCH for Code compliance.
• Assessment of pre-production scripts and highlighting of potential concerns in local content.
• Ability to make editorial amendments to mitigate content issues and sensitivities.
• Recommend appropriate consumer advisory ratings and scheduling suitability of programmes.
• Research on specific themes/subjects that may have sensitivities for local broadcast.
• Craft engaging synopses for acquired programmes for media / press release.
• Work closely with Programming / Marketing / Scheduling / Subtitling & Sales teams in achieving our corporate goals.

Key Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet broadcast deadlines.
• General Degree in any discipline.
• Experience in Broadcast / Media regulations and compliance will be beneficial.
• Keen awareness of social/community sensitivities in Indian TV programming for broadcast on Vasantham and meWATCH.
• Knowledgeable of local and regional political and bi-lateral concerns of the day.
• Possess a general understanding of local laws & regulations.
• Ability to comprehend Indian dialects is an asset.
• Possess good English writing skills for effective communications on compliance matters with internal and external stakeholders.
