Overview

The candidate will be assisting the HOD and Senior Faculty staff to formulate and implement the Annual Department Work Plan that incldudues the strategic goals and deliverables for the various programe within the Department.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Lead and Corporate Services - Accountable for the administration of the department

  • Oversee, implement and occasional revision of the administrative policies of the department for the undergradute and postgraduate training matters, HR, reseatch administration (internal grants), media and PR.
  • Responsible for overssing faculty and research staff recruitment
  • Portfolio crafting and assigment
  • Staff career development and management
  • Conduct adminstration and approval authority
  • Undertake adminstration as HOD\'s delegate/proxy
Governance, Policy and Practice Audits
  • On-going exercise/revision of policies applicable to Department
  • Ensure policies are practised. Advisory to HOD and Executive Committee members on guidelines and policies in order to adhere to governance practices.
  • Design and implement internal governance policies and gudielines to achieve optimum efficiency and fulfil the mission of the department.
  • Support and advise the Faculty Executives on Policy and Practice of the Department.
  • Compliance of policies and guidelines

  • Transparency and fairness in transaction and practices
  • Efficiency in achieving mission of the department
Reviews and KPIs
  • Lead staff to ensure appropriate and regular tracking and reporting on KPIs
  • To coordinate rthe annual reviews by MOE\'s Academic Research Council with the support of MOE for undergraduate matters
  • Work with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine to improve global ranking in educatoon & research ratings
Business Process Re-engineering, Strategy and Growth
  • Support HOD in review and streamline processes as part of internal and Cluster Organisational Excellence exercise
  • Support HOD in the goal of restructuring and re-strategizing and tertiary institutional partnerships.
  • Recruitment of new administrative talent
  • Establishing new core facilities and research capabilities
  • Space acquisition
  • Re-pupose existing staff to new roles
  • Financial strategies and funding priorities
Research Management and Business Development
  • Re-align funding prioroties and funding strategy to fuel new research directions
  • Business development through health industry collaborations and subsequent education & research investment and development (eg. Engage industry partner in partnerships, work with NUS Research Office in crqafting agreements and implementation of agreements and projects etc.)
  • Increase visibility in global education through partnerships for graduate education and post-graduate continuing learning and training
  • Expand the Primary Care Research Unit (PCRU) to obtain more research grants and train Residents and GPs.
  • Increase external funding source
  • Form partnerships with Schools and Tertiary departments (both in Singapore and overseas) in offering quality and brand-name educaton and training products
International Relations
  • Accountable for all negotiations of agreements such as MOUs, Research Collaborative Agreements (RCAs) on behalf of the Department
  • Main point of liaison for all strategic visitors. Advisor on impact of visitorship to Department\'s productivity, talent pool, recruitment and reputation
  • Successfully conclude agreements
  • Mutually beneficial outcome of the partnerships
  • International reputation
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Administration or Management
  • With at least 10 years of experience in healthcare industry and/or project management is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate across stakeholders
  • Strong organization, analytical and inter-personal skills are essential, to be meticulous, self-initiated and independent
  • Able to work in a fluid environment, amidst rapid changes and multiple demands
  • Work under tight timelines is a plus
  • Basic statistical skills.
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills
  • Experience in managing a team is a plus
