Assistant Director, Group Facilities Development (NUH)

The Assistant Director, Group Facilties Development (NUH) will lead a team of Project Managers in the planning and implementation of Facilities Development projects in Kent Ridge Campus and set up project management systems and tools. Reporting to the Director, Group Facilities Development, he/she will:

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a cluster project dashboard on the portfolio of projects to monitor and co-ordinate infrastructure development activities for timely execution/handover of projects.
  • Develop project governance policies and processes to enable consistency in the delivery of infrastructure projects in the cluster.
  • Develop technical standards for projects in the cluster and ensure standardisation and alignment with overall hospital\'s infrastructure and design in the projects.
  • Represents the department and work closely with Chief Operating Officers and Head of Departments and provide subject matter advice on Facilities Development matters.
  • Oversee a team of Project Managers in the procurement, evaluation and appointment of consultants and contractors to ensure quality performance and contract management of projects.
  • Finalise contracts and ensure proper closure of project accounts.
  • Lead and/or oversee project workgroup meetings, site meetings, management update and taskforce for department\'s initiatives.
  • Ensure optimisation of manpower resources and plan for staff development and overall team competencies.
  • Lead and execute Special Projects or tasks as directed, including support to NUHS committees and sub-boards.
  • Ad-hoc duties and projects in support of department\'s mission e.g. improvement initiatives, review of SOP, provide coverage for RO.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Architecture, Building, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience, with proven track record in public sector or healthcare infrastructure projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, driven with the ability to multi-task
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage ambiguities in the course of work
