Job Description


What the role is:You will be overseeing the review and formulation of regulatory policies for licensed healthcare services to safeguard patient safety, welfare and public interest. You are expected to work closely with multiple stakeholders in the drafting of service regulations, licence conditions, guidelines, etc., to be introduced across the different phases of implementation of the Healthcare Services Act (HCSA). You will be overseeing the planning, coordination and conducting of licensing inspections and audits of licensed healthcare services to ensure compliance with prevailing regulatory requirements as well as related licence conditions and guidelines. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:

  • To oversee the review and formulation of regulatory policies \xe2\x80\xa2 To oversee the development of new regulatory policies for new services where patient safety is at risk \xe2\x80\xa2 To oversee the conduct of inspections and audits for hospitals and ambulatory care settings
What we are looking for:
  • Education in healthcare-related disciplines (e.g., Medicine, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing) or Law preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 Previous working experience in roles involving policy formulation, implementation, regulation/governance, strategic planning, healthcare operations and/or inspections/audits preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 Previous working experience in a healthcare institution is an advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 Possesses integrity and honesty to uphold rules and regulations impartially, to safeguard patient safety and welfare \xe2\x80\xa2 Good people management and leadership skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to draft clear and concise policy papers and inspection/audit reports. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to think on your feet and work under pressure with minimal supervision \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to front licensing inspections and audits with hospital and clinic licensees independently \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to listen and communicate effectively with our stakeholders Ideal candidate should also possess the following Key Competencies: \xe2\x80\xa2 Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working. \xe2\x80\xa2 Improving & Innovating - Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. \xe2\x80\xa2 Working Effectively with Stakeholders - Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
