Job Description

What the role is:
The role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of national infection prevention and control (IPC) initiatives, and coordinating strategic efforts to strengthen healthcare resilience, patient safety, and community preparedness for future pandemics.
You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
What you will be working on:
1) Lead the secretariat functions for the National Infection Prevention and Control (NIPC) Committee, coordinating strategic initiatives, facilitating policy development, and managing administrative operations to strengthen Singapore's national infection prevention and control framework. This include the following:

  • Lead and coordinate national IPC programmes and initiatives.
  • Develop and review policies, guidelines, and standards for IPC practices across healthcare, community and non-healthcare settings.
  • Strengthen IPC capabilities beyond healthcare institutions to ensure that community facilities are ready and resilient for future pandemics.
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, including healthcare institutions, community organisations, regulatory bodies, and professional associations, to drive IPC efforts.
  • Monitor and analyse infection control data and trends to inform strategy and improvements.
  • Support the Deputy Director in strategic planning and coordination across national IPC projects and working groups.
  • Facilitate capacity building and knowledge-sharing platforms to strengthen the IPC ecosystem across all sectors.
  • Ensure timely communication and reporting to CDA and MOH senior management and external partners.
2) Lead the implementation of the National IPC Plan to reduce HAIs and execute secretariat functions for the National IPC Guideline Development Groups and the National IPC Standards Development Groups, convened by the NIPC Committee.
3) Work closely with the healthcare epidemiology (HCE), ICON@NCID, and Analytics, Reports, and Methods (ARM) units to manage outbreaks, reduce healthcare associated infections (HAIs) and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
What we are looking for:
  • Minimally tertiary qualifications from recognised discipline, preferably in nursing, medical, pharmacy and other healthcare fields
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IPC, project management, stakeholder engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in drafting documents and reports will be considered a significant advantage for this role.
