PURPOSE

  • Strategic mindset to plan and aligned the innovation roadmap for the organisation by collaborating cross-institutionally (ie. 3P: Public Private Partnerships) and cross-divisionally to support the Gallery\xe2\x80\x99s vision and mission, facilitated through the SmartMuseum framework of transformation in the a) Art Experience, b) Visitor Experience, and c) Work Experience
  • To understand inherent museum business processes and crystalise problem definitions, test desirability through Proof of Concepts (POC) with relevant divisions, and develop business cases on new initiatives to aid decision making of management. For successful POCs, to work with our digital delivery team to scale with systemic sustainability.
  • Drive User Focus & Accountability: Objectively pursue user desirability by designing visitor experiences through participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, visitor interviews, focus group discussions, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery.
  • Envision and execute innovation as a process at the Gallery, which includes the teams of Y-Lab (Startup Accelerator) > Co:Lab X (In-House Innovation) > Digital Delivery (Scale).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Shape Strategy - Influence the future of the Gallery by co-developing a strategic roadmap for increasing participation across the Gallery\xe2\x80\x99s existing and future channels, while being cognisant of the Gallery\xe2\x80\x99s needs and resources. These will likely include disruptive transformation of the attractions and art & culture industry through Web 3.0 approach (Blockchain/NFT, Metaverse/Mixed Reality/Immersive, AI, etc).
  • Special Projects Management \xe2\x80\x93 Manage ambiguity and complexity as you drive and deliver pioneering transformational projects at the Gallery with the support of cross-divisional teams and potential partners (e.g. vendors, startups, big tech firms).
  • Operational Excellence \xe2\x80\x93 Ensure project sustainability and by collaborating with our digital delivery team during/post innovation pilots for proper integration into our Gallery tech stack (where applicable). You will also be responsible to maintain/enhance the Y-Lab showcase area in collaboration with our foundry vendor, who\xe2\x80\x99s role will be to provide the pipeline of start-up projects. You will improve museum operations through business process design, coupled with appropriate interventions, eg AI, Robotics Process Automation

Qualifications:
  • Business Development
  • Given high degree of outside-in thinking, you should have had clearly demonstrated experience as a product owner by launching and iterating new products, services, or brands, as part of a more established organisation.
  • Strong consideration given if you have experience running your own startup(s).Being an entrepreneur would provide the necessary experience to think holistically and with the clarity of clear problems to be solved, despite resource limitations which impacts non-profits such as the Gallery.
  • Good track record in successfully leading cross-portfolio, multi-disciplinary initiatives by building partnerships and working collaboratively across different divisions/functions to achieve shared objectives. This includes the ability to motivate co-workers and external partners to share their honest views and support other\xe2\x80\x99s creativity which help build new solutions in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • Thought Leadership
  • Ability to speak at public events and persuade internal stakeholders on the latest socio-technological trends in relation to the art & culture industry, such as the semantic Web 3.0 (eg. blockchain, metaverse, machine learning) and articulate how artists, art institutions, and consumers would interface and thrive.
  • Working proficiency with tools to efficiently deliver the modern organisation\xe2\x80\x99s needs, such as team management (eg. Asana), project management (eg. Jira, MS Projects), collaboration (eg. Miro, Padlet), survey (eg. Medallia, Qualtrics), data visualization (eg. PowerBI, Tableu), RPA (eg Nintex, UiPath), aside from the standard Microsoft Office suite.

  • At least bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Consumer Market Research, Data Analytics / Science, User Experience (UX), a related design or behavioural science discipline
  • Ability to support innovation recommendations through research synthesis and delivering actionable insights for management via email reports and intelligence dashboards (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Bonus: Ability to automate boring routines through Robotic process automation tools or codes (e.g. Python, R scripting etc.)
