An Assistant Director of Groups, Meetings and Events is responsible for maximizing revenue opportunities in the areas of group reservations, meetings and events by driving sales acquisitions, maximizing business opportunities and increasing business conversions. The person is knowledgeable on local market trends and competitor activities and would recommend strategic sales initiatives to win and maintain hotel\xe2\x80\x99s market leader position in groups, meetings and events.
What will I be doing?

As Assistant Director of Groups, Meetings and Events, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Utilise knowledge of local and international market MICE and event contacts to drive and support business acquisition and conversion.
  • Ensure response to RFPs and guests\xe2\x80\x99 enquiries are followed up in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure support for business conversion, including follow up on leads\xe2\x80\x99 conversion with support from room sales team; work with business support and revenue team for optimised pricing strategy and support for exceptional service delivery from operations teams of Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage to deliver exemplary guests service.
  • Lead and guide events servicing team to ensure excellent event execution, accurate billing and Hilton Honors crediting.
  • Ensure team update materialised room nights and revenue after each event and group.
  • Conduct sales visits, product presentations (including virtual sessions), site inspections and attend tradeshows to drive business acquisitions.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports including but not limiting to sales calls reports, business leads status reports and post show/tradeshow event summary.
  • Prepare proposals, engage in negotiations and confirmation of business through contracting.
  • Follow through from negotiation to actualisation of event and final bill settlement for groups and events.
  • Engage proactively with group and event organisers during group stay dates or event dates and gather feedback post event or group check out.
  • Provide guidance to guests for compliance with safe management measures, regulatory restrictions on groups and dining and support guests in relevant applications for groups, meetings or events when required.
  • Comply to brand standards including Hilton EventReady with CleanStay and maintain quality assurance with support for internal audits and handling mystery shopping calls.
  • Prepare and lead discussions in Pre Conference Meeting, Group Resume and Banquet Event Order to all internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution of groups or events.
  • Contribute and participate in hotel organised sales activities including sales blitz and wedding shows and any other Hilton organised sales initiatives.
  • Participate in SCOUT, referral business leads program in Hilton Worldwide.
  • Identify gaps in revenue contribution and recommend implementation of initiatives to mitigate shortfalls.
  • Establish good working relationships with internal stakeholders and external guests including event contractors and suppliers.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets as an individual and contribute to team\xe2\x80\x99s revenue targets.
  • Support enrolment and revenue contribution from Hilton Honors.
  • Maintain accurate and updated database of contacts, group and meeting enquiries.
  • Comply to hotel\xe2\x80\x99s credit policy and ensure full settlement of payments within agreed timeline as contracted.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar capacity or leadership position.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Prior knowledge and use of Delphi.fdc.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in hospitality or business discipline.
