NTU College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS) is a union of four Schools and two Centres \xe2\x80\x93 the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), the School of Humanities (SoH), the School of Social Sciences (SSS), the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) and the Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA). We are currently home to more than 6,000 students, as well as faculty, research and administrative staff.
The Assistant Director (Research Grant Support Management) will work closely with the College Grant Consultant in supporting the Dean and the Associate Dean (Research) in the strategic planning and execution of the research strategy of HASS Cluster. The incumbent works closely with the research administration teams at the College, School and Research Centre levels to mobilise resources across the Cluster and materialise the strategic plans, with the aim to increase the grant activities and yield.
Responsibilities
Actively identify potential non-MOE external grant opportunities and sourcing of local and international external grants for faculty members and analyse funding trends and conduct research needs matching assessment
Explore potential network of collaborations and establish strategic relationship and network with external government ministries, agencies, and other grant providers
Actively engage external stakeholders and establish collaborative research partnerships across schools, colleges, universities and government agencies and industries to foster interdisciplinary and/or multi-disciplinary research collaboration
Provide advice and support to faculty members and schools on external research grant matters (pre- and post-grant support) to encourage more external grant submissions and boost grant yields
Conduct one-on-one consultation to help faculty members navigate grants landscape and assist with research idea development for non-MOE external grants
Provide pre-award services such as reviewing, commenting, and editing of grant proposals and budget preparation to help faculty with structure, argumentation, and writing (from a lay-person\xe2\x80\x99s perspective), as well as align with grant admin and budget guidelines to make the proposals more competitive
Lead a team to provide post award and grant admin support including project variation justification write up, submission and tracking of variation, progress reporting, and navigation of RISE, ARIBA, ERMP, and other similar systems, as well as assist with research staff hiring and other grant admin related matters
Coordinate and organize grant administrative briefing and workshops and research networking events
Requirements
Degree or Masters from a recognized university
At least 8 years of relevant work experience in research administration especially in grant sourcing, grant administration (pre-grant award and post-grand award) in an academic and (or) research institutions
At least 3 years of people management/ leadership experience
Proficient in data analysis and reporting of grant information and research output, financial projection and budgeting
Excellent verbal and written communications skills that are persuasive, influential and compelling
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with competing deadlines
