[What the role is]

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore \xe2\x80\x93 banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. It is also responsible for well-functioning financial markets, sound conduct, and investor education.

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of a team responsible for the timely and accurate settlement of MAS\xe2\x80\x99 transactions relating to monetary and domestic markets management operations. This will include the administration of the MAS Electronic Payment system (MEPS+) and the Current Account System and supporting the issuance and settlement of Singapore Government Securities (SGS), Singapore Savings Bonds, MAS Bills, Special SGS and Advance Deposits.

You will also work closely with colleagues from other departments to participate in/lead initiatives for system testing, enhancements or integration, process improvements and disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing, both internally and with the industry.

[What we are looking for]

  • Relevant experience in the banking and finance industry in a back-office settlements/operations role
  • Good knowledge of financial instruments (eg: fixed income, FX, money market) and market mechanisms/ conventions
  • Good knowledge of SWIFT message types for cash payments and securities settlement and experience in using SWIFT
  • Experience in executing or managing testing activities
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
