What the role is:As an Assistant Engineer/ Senior Assistant Engineer / Engineer, you may be deployed to one of the following teams in the Water Supply (Plants) Department to manage and develop Singapore\'s water resources: 1. Operations / Quality Control This team is responsible for operating the computer-based system, monitoring the water treatment process and water quality. 2. Electrical This team is responsible for maintaining electrical equipment in the water treatment plant. 3. Mechanical This team is responsible for maintaining mechanical equipment in the water treatment plant. 4. Instrumentation & Control This team is responsible for maintaining instruments in the water treatment plant, including the computer-based system and PLC.What you will be working on:As a Shift Operator, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following : \xe2\x80\xa2 Operate water treatment plant and equipment to produce potable water at prescribed quantity and quality, meeting WHO, USEPA and EPH guidelines. \xe2\x80\xa2 Carry out water sampling and laboratory tests to ensure water quality within prescribed control limits. \xe2\x80\xa2 Carry out administrative duties for water treatment plant operations related contracts according to contract specifications and requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Supervise works performed by contractors to ensure compliance with requirements. Work Location - Candidate may be deployed in Choa Chu Kang Waterworks/Lower Seletar Waterworks/Tuas Desalination Plant/Tuas South Desalination Plant. For Electrical/Mechanical positions, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following : \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintenance, troubleshooting and inspection of plants and equipment in the waterworks \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting in the supervision of maintenance works and personnel \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting in the preparation of preventive maintenance programme and tender documents \xe2\x80\xa2 Project implementation and coordinating work with contractors \xe2\x80\xa2 Purchase of parts, materials and tools for various maintenance works \xe2\x80\xa2 Raising awareness in addressing environmental, health and safety hazards. Work Location - Candidate may be deployed in Tuas Desalination Plant/Tuas South Desalination Plant for AE (Electrical) post; Tuas South Desalination Plant for AE(Mechanical) post. For QC positions, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following : \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan and implement water quality testing and sampling activities to ensure water quality is kept within required levels: Assist ad-hoc investigation on water quality issues; Oversee collection of samples in accordance to the Sampling and Monitoring Programme \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan and implement maintenance activities on laboratory equipment to ensure its reliability in supporting operational requirements: Calibrate and operate laboratory instruments \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage chemical stock to ensure they are sufficient to support Waterworks plant operations, including purchase of chemical and overseeing chemical delivery \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage contracts to ensure works performed by contractors are executed according to objectives and within budget Work Location - Candidate may be deployed in Choa Chu Kang Waterworks.What we are looking for:

• Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics) and related engineering disciplines \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to work on 3-rotating shift duties in water treatment plants for Operations positions \xe2\x80\xa2 Works well independently and also a good team player
