Assistant Engineer
Job Description
The system engineer is responsiblie for maintaining on-premises and cloud applications, storage, and network equipment. he will be expected to plan, install, configure and manage all aspects of IT infrastucture to ensure reliable, secure and cost-effective delivery of servcies.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
1. Design, configure, deploy, and maintain applications, servers, storage, and network solution, both on-premises and in the cloud
2. Proactively work to improve reliability, stability, and security of the on-premises and in cloud environments
3. Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning
4. Create and update docuementation
5. Work with developers to deploy and maintain applications, including hardening and vulnerability remediation
6. Research and evaluste new hardware and software solutions
Qualifications:
Experience with:
- MS Windows Server OS Administration
- SQL Database Administration
- VM Application
- Switches/Router/Firewall configuration
- Knowledge of network monitoring solutions
Education/Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Information System or related field
- 5-8 years experience in IT system administration or system engineering role
- Certification in Cisco, VMware, AWS, Azure or others a plus
- Strong hardware and software torubleshooting skills
