Job Description


Job Purpose Assist Manager in management of landscapes on the island and participate in Biodiversity/ Sustainability/Conservation projects and initiatives. Provide landscape design and presentation support. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage plant nursery, production and plant maintenance and ensure smooth operation for the beautification at key nodes and island landscape in general, habitat enhancement of nature zones island landscape.
  • Support transition of plants from nursery environment to open landscape gardens / new sites which includes watering and soil requirement, fertilising, pest/disease treatment etc.
  • Support plant display for programmes/ launches/ events including preparation, setup, maintenance, teardown, drawing up proposal, reporting etc.
  • Manage landscape term contractors for proper maintenance of various zones demarcated by Manager including all related admin duties and correspondence.
  • Assist Manager and EM team in charge of biodiversity and conservation in all horticultural and environmental related works Guide, supervise and ensure TC and in house team on proper plant maintenance and good landscape practices, nature area management etc.
  • Planning, drawing up proposal, sourcing, ground preparation, supervision and ground coordination to implement landscape projects or habitat enhancement as assigned by Manager.
  • Assist Manager in provision of landscape services to tenants, event organizers etc. as and when required.
  • Support outreach / education and hosting of visitors, schools and educational institutes and support tree planting programmes as and when required.
  • Support new initiatives and projects e.g. theme gardens, native plant programme, nutrition, plant trials, biodiversity surveys/monitoring, habitat enhancement, inventory, smart system etc.
  • Perform admin roles e.g. preparation of proposals, approval papers, records and data, report and presentation, sourcing/procurement, filing/DMS, WSH/safe practices/standard compliance for environment and landscape practices, conduct briefing, audit and inspection, conduct study etc.
  • Support crisis handling for EM department
  • To perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma will be preferred in Environment, Landscape, Horticultural or arboricultural maintenance.
  • At least 1-3 years experience in landscape management. Diploma with some experience during internship/project in relevant field will be considered.
  • Passion for plants and nature.
  • Comfortable to work with and able to identify different plant species, particularly native plants.
  • Good IT and design skills (Microsoft office, Photoshop, AutoCad and other relevant design/GIS skills etc.)
  • Preferably with class 2 / 3 driving license.
  • Good admin skills (reports/data and preferably with good English comprehension, reading and writing and presentation skills)
  • Able to work on weekends when necessary
  • Able to multi-task in fast-paced environment and with good problem solving skills
